A Few Must Haves from the Freshmade Kitchen

Some people love to go shoe shopping. Some people love to hunt for antique treasures. Some people love to collect tchotchke.

Our love of kitchen items is extreme. We can spend hours of pure joy in a restaurant supply store.

Set up the kitchen to be a place you love to be.  Whether you have a huge open kitchen in the suburbs or a tiny NYC shoebox kitchen, your space should be functional, clean, organized, purposeful, and inspire creativity.

Check out a few of our Freshmade Kitchen Must-Haves below.

Sheet Pans In All Sizes
Why we love them: Getting brand new sheet pans is a total vibe. We use them to make easy sheet pan dinners, family size pizzas, pancakes for a crowd, snack boards, crafting, and so much more. These are ultra-affordable: Eighth Size Sheet Pan, Quater Size Sheet Pan, Half Size Sheet Pan

Precut Parchment Paper Sheets
Why we love them: Ever try to fight with the cutter on a roll of parchment paper? Only to end up with a jagged piece that isn’t even the correct size of your sheet pan? Not worth the battle. Once you try the pre-cut version, we promise you will NEVER go back! We love this unbleached version from Webstaurant.

Pop Up Sponges
Why we love them: most NYC kitchens are short on space so a 12-pack of these French compact sponges take up barely any room in the drawer. They are biodegradable and so much fun to rehydrate and watch grow into a full-size sponge. And since you should really be changing your sponge often, the 12-pack comes in handy for sure!

Magnetic Knife Bar
Why we love it: It’s for more than just knives! We keep most of our knives stored in-drawer on this Madesmart Knife Mat but we like to keep a few knives and small tools in arms reach on this magnetic block. It does the ultimate job at corraling things like measuring cups & spoons, kitchen shears, and paring knives for small, quick jobs.

Goodcook Ground Meat Chopper
Why we love it: it’s the most perfect tool for chopping and stirring ground meats, crumbling tofu, mashing avocados, potatoes, cauliflower, and more. It’s made of heat-safe nylon, won’t damage your pots and pans and, it’s dishwasher safe!

Dot & Army Reusable Pot Scrubbers
Why we love them: for all the times your pots and pans need a little extra elbow grease to get them clean turn to these nylon, reusable, and washable pot scrubbers - they are like tiny kitchen heroes! Runner up: Chore Boy Stainless Steel Ultimate Scrubbers

Staub Mini Cast Iron Fry Pan
Why we love it: yes, of course it’s mini and cute but don’t let this small fry fool you - it’s a kitchen workhorse! Dragging out the full size cast iron is just too much work sometimes and that is when you can turn to its baby sister to do small jobs like personal size pizzas, cobblers, frittatas, and deep-dish cookies! It’s oven safe to 500 degrees and works well on all stovetops. See also the Lodge 5” Mini Cast Iron Skillet

Baking Soda & Vinegar
Why we love it: not for recipes but for cleaning! You can ditch almost all the cleaning products under your sink for these two. Freshen a drain, shine a stainless steel sink, get rid of gunk on pots and pans, and more! Clean your whole house with vinegar, baking soda, and lemon

Resusable Glass Jars
Why we love them: if you still have plastic tupperware containers in your house it’s time to toss them! You can repurpose glass (like the ones sauce comes in) for lots of things in the kitchen and around the house. After washing them well, use them to store leftovers, dry goods, make salad jars, pickle veggies, as salad dressing shakers, ice coffee containers, corral craft supplies and more.

Crystals like Carnelian, Rose Quartz, Clear Quartz, and Amethyst
Why we love them: “There’s just something special about a meal made with love. Give everything you cook the same kick by adding the secret ingredient of loving energy to your kitchen” via Energy Muse
