This teriyaki sauce is one of our go-to recipes - it is delicious on chicken, fish, or tofu. In this class your teen will learn how to prepare a homemade teriyaki sauce to pair with their choice of protein. Together we’ll prep the marinade, learn how to marinate, talk about food safety and cook our protein choice to perfection. While our dish bakes, we’ll prepare a cool cucumber salad to serve alongside. For this class, you will need: your choice of protein (this dish works well with chicken (breast or thighs), firm fish like salmon, cod or halibut, or extra firm tofu and rice (white or brown). For the sauce: miso, hoisin, soy sauce or tamari, rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, brown sugar, garlic cloves, and ginger (fresh or ground). For the cucumber salad: cucumbers, salt, sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, soy sauce or tamari, olive oil, red pepper flakes, scallions or cilantro, and sesame seeds. Full ingredient list with measurements will be sent out upon registration.
