Our Best of the Greenmarket semester returns in time for Spring’s beautiful bounty of fruits, veggies and more from the beautiful Union Square Greenmarket here in NYC! Each week we visit the Greenmarket and pick the most beautiful produce to cook up in classes. Each week features exciting and new recipes with the freshest ingredients of the season.
ages 2 to 4+
Cooking with your toddler has never been more fun! Little chefs will get to chop, taste and explore the tools of the kitchen in this culinary adventure. This class will focus on cooperation and sharing. A story time is included at the end of each class. This is a 1-hour class with a parent or caregiver.
ages 2 to 4+
Our favorite children’s books come to life as we create original recipes inspired by the stories from our book wall. A new story and recipe will be featured each week. This is a 1-hour class with a parent or caregiver.
cook & craft
ages 2 to 4+
One of our most loved classes is back on the schedule! Mini chefs and little artists will cook and craft their way through this exploratory class using both their palate to taste fun & healthy recipes they make from scratch and their palette to craft fun art projects. This is a 1-hour class with a parent or caregiver.
ages 4+ to 7+
This hands-on cooking class teaches your child essential cooking techniques, builds confidence and teaches safety in the kitchen. Each recipe introduces exciting ingredients and engages all of the senses for a well-rounded culinary experience. Class ends with a meal shared together. This is a 1-hour, drop-off class.
ages 8 to 11
Watch out Master Chef Junior! Your child will learn to make delicious recipes, from main courses to healthy desserts and snacks. This class highlights new skills and techniques each week including knife skills, learning how to properly use kitchen tools, how to read/write recipes, make substitutions, kitchen cleanup and more. Each class ends with a meal shared together. This is a 1-hour, 15-minute, drop-off class.
JUNIOR II / TEENS
ages 9 to 12+
Junior II / Teens is a class for our more advanced junior level and above kid chefs. Your child will build a repertoire of go-to recipes and learn hands on techniques so they can begin to create their own recipes with ease. We’ll also cover how to shop for the freshest ingredients, basic meal prep techniques, how to use herbs and spices, plating techniques and more. This class is suggested as a full semester class so your child can build on their skills each week. Each class ends with a meal shared together. This is a 1-hour, 15-minute, drop-off class.
