- 2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup water
- egg wash (1 egg + water)
- assorted toppings: poppy seeds, sesame seeds, a flakey salt like Falksalt, granulated garlic, dried chives, onion flakes, chia seeds, paprika, etc.
Directions: Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, salt and sugar. Create a well and add in the oil and water.
Mix with a wooden spoon until the dough just comes together. Remove from bowl and knead for a few minutes until smooth.
Divide the dough in half and wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least one hour.
While the dough is chilling, prepare your toppings.
When the dough is chilled, scatter some flour onto a clean work surface. Press or roll out the dough until about 1/8 of an inch thick.
Cut the dough with a knife into squares, triangles or other shapes or use cookie cutters.
Arrange pieces on baking sheet. Lightly brush each with egg wash and top with your mixture of toppings
Bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
Let cool before serving to crisp up.
